Learning Tip #5

In this video-blog post, I wanted to discuss with you one more studying technique called Hard Start Technique. Here’s a simple summary of this technique in easy steps:
1. Write down all the tasks you want to focus on.(Watch Learning Tip #3 to find out more about the focused mode).
2. Start with the most difficult task and focus on it until you feel stuck.
3. Take a break and focus on the easiest task from your list. (Watch Learning Tip #3 to find out more about the diffuse mode).
4. Come back to the most difficult task!
The basic idea is that you work on a task for a few minutes. As soon as you start doing the task, you’re very likely to continue working for longer than planned.
Overall, the hard start technique is a simple but powerful strategy to overcome procrastination and increase productivity in your studies. Give it a try next time you find yourself procrastinating on your study tasks!
Have you ever tried this technique? if so, was it helpful?
Have fun practicing! See you in my class!
Cheers,
Vlada
