Learning Tip #3

In this blog post, I wanted to discuss with you HOW NOT TO GET FRUSTRATED WHEN STUDYING. I also wanted to discuss the difference between the FOCUSED MODE and the DIFFUSE MODE in learning.
Watch the video below while following along with the text:
When studying or working, our brain is in FOCUSED MODE, that is we concentrate very hard. If we stay in focused (concentrated) mode for too long, we start feeling stuck, get very tired, and eventually become frustrated. In that case, our smart brain is telling us that we should take a rest.
Whenever we feel stuck, we should STOP FOCUSING —> Do the dishes, take a brief walk, brush your teeth, make tea, take a shower. In other words, switch from focused mode to DIFFUSE MODE to find your peaceful mind. When in diffuse mode, our brain continues reviewing the material and finds new solutions. So, when you go back to studying, you will be surprised to find out that when relaxing, your brain was able to create new ways of thinking and remembering the material.
In the comments below, tell us if you have any favourite ways to rest and be in diffuse mode? How do you come up with interesting solutions?
Have fun practicing! See you in my class!
Cheers,
Vlada
